Made in Portugal, part 5 (The view down the valley)

You wait ages for a new blog, and then two come along at once...

Tonight, I'm going to share with you some landscape pictures. Rather than being a selection of different Algarve views, each blog is dedicated to a seperate view at different times of the day; the first one is based on the view looking roughly south from beyond the pool back down the road towards Nave and Caldas de Monchique (the photos are also presented chronologically).

I've been planning to do these blogs for a while, but had trouble editing them, (plus free time seems to be even more of a sparse commodity than ever). However, I feel it's appropriate to do blogs of photos based around a single theme with obituaries for Bernd Becher appearing in newspapers this week, click here to read the Guardian one.

The work he produced with his wife Hilla inspired me whilst studying photography at university in Nottingham; it's simple, sparse and repetitious, but their attention to detail is second to none, he also tutored two of my favourite photographers, Andreas Gursky and Thomas Struth, at the art college in Dusseldorf.

Bernd Becher, 1931-2007.
